I LOVED the Artemis Fowl series. I knew this would be a great read, and it never seemed dull. My favorite part was when Artemis captured Holly at the Great Oak which is in the Ring or Tara.
This page-turner follows a boy named Artemis Fowl and his bodyguard, Butler. But Artemis isn't your typical twelve-year-old. He comes from a notorious crime family and hopes to increase the family’s notoriety.
In Artemis Fowl Book 1, Artemis discovers an ancient species. Fairies! Artemis captures LEP (Lower Elements Police) Captain Holly Short to expand his criminal empire. Unfortunately for Artemis, Commander Root (No-nonsense) of the LEP has a plan to stop him. With the help of a centaur named Foaly (Centaur genius)  and a criminal named Mulch Diggums (Dwarf criminal), Briar Cudgeon (an LEP Commander looking for a promotion) releases an angry Bull Troll on Artemis. Holly must temporarily band with Artemis and Butler to fight the troll. If she doesn’t, the entire Fairy world would be accidentally revealed to the human world, the one thing the LEP is dedicated to stopping from happening.
From capturing a fairy to battling trolls, this book captivates and amazes you.

Warnings: There are a few fighting scenes.  Weapons are used and mentioned throughout the book.
