Afraid of the Light
Children often have an automatic fear of the dark. Not being able to see what’s around us sends our imaginations into overdrive as we imagine dangers lurking in the shadows. In Afraid of the Light, we find a young monster, Echo, who is afraid of the light. All Echo knows is the cover of darkness, and in the light, she is unprotected.
When Echo finds herself face to face with a little boy, Grey, whose fear is the opposite of her own, she learns she has no reason to fear the light and teaches Grey not to fear the dark. Though very different lifestyles, the new friends find a commonality in their fears and become fast friends.
